A real stork village
Adventure Farm Molenwaard was once home to a genuine stork village, which is why you can still see many storks flying around the park today. The nests have remained in place, and every year the storks return to raise a new generation of chicks. This makes the park a unique piece of living nature, where visitors have a great chance of seeing these magnificent birds in their natural habitat.
Baby storks in June
In June, the baby storks hatch from their eggs. Each chick receives a small identification ring on its leg so researchers can monitor its movements as it grows. If you visit in June, you'll have an excellent chance of spotting the youngest storks in their nests while their parents fly back and forth collecting food. Even outside June, it's always worth looking up at these remarkable nests, you might just spot a stork!

What do storks eat?
Storks mainly feed on insects, worms, frogs and small rodents, which they find in meadows and near water. The landscape surrounding Adventure Farm Molenwaard provides exactly the kind of habitat they love, with plenty of open grassland and water to help them raise their young.
